FIN: I heard it at a session on Arran at the Arran Folk Festival. Everyone knew it. They all sang along. It went round maybe three of four times before we stopped. It’s a really dark song, that first verse is brutal, and is somehow balanced by the chorus. Funny how folk joined in with such gusto. Maybe they weren’t listening to the words.
